22 Hour Mountain Course (with optional NVG)
Topflight’s signature mountain training course. Three weeks of comprehensive training designed to equip a pilot with the necessary skills for safe mountain flying.
Beginning with basic aircraft handling skills and an introduction to mountain flying concepts, the course progressively introduces the student to higher altitudes, more complex terrain, and advanced techniques.
Students will study terrain airflow, mountain illusions, the contour crawl, the basic mountain recce, platform landings, confined areas, and power management. The course exposes the student to a variety of terrain at different altitudes, including cirques, deep-set and shallow-set saddles, ridges, shoulders, ledges, crowns, pinnacles, glaciers, alpine meadows, canyons, riverbeds, and dead-end valleys.
